Nice fix on cloning out the cars. I thought at first the restaurant was part of an auto show. I agree with Kathleen that the owner should put it on her website. Good capture of a difficult lighting situation. |

Nice photo, Walter. The colors are really nice and a great contrast to the Egret. I am not sure if it is my eyes or the photo that is slightly out of focus because there is no feather detail in the bird. That's usually a bi-product of noise reduction in LR. Still, a great capture. |

Wow! That is a post-processing job and a half! I was amazed when I looked back at your original. Way to recover a very interesting photo from a mish-mash. Love it! |

Hi Kathleen: The photo is technically sharp, the colors are beautifully contrasting, the textures are charming, the reflections are great. My only minor issue is the major leading line takes the viewer to a parking lot? My eyes were drawn down that line expecting something. I might have cropped the right side in an inch and cloned out the car. But, that's just me... |

I agree this would best be in the "travel" category. I also agree that the people surrounding her and the lines of the building are very distracting. She is a good subject and you might have asked her to work with you a little to allow you to change your perspective and eliminate the distractions as much as possible. Capturing her drawing was an excellent addition. |

Terry - That's a great capture! I have quite a few egrets in flight myself but never with the benefit of light clouds with blue sky. All your details are sharp. The green lore stands out just right with the eyes. Well done.
Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a fun place to shoot, isn't it? |

Hi Kathleen: I always value your input. I'm a bit puzzled. I want to understand, when you mention the "top edge" are you referring to the wingtips or the leading edge (in aviation terms) of the wings? Thanks, Bud |

David: Great abstract work. It's a picture that immediately conjures up a story. This is a piece I would expect to see while wandering through one of the New York galleries. Well done. |

Hi Larry: I can feel your frustration taking the drive, getting wet, and having clouds partially obscuring your shot. I love the photo but agree with Richard that the foreground rocks are too prominent for my taste. Easy fix with Nik ColorEfex Pro GND. I have to find some dark skies up here. My challenge is the sun stays up later than I do spring thru fall and winters are cloudy. ;-) |

Hi Jason:
Great capture of one of my "bucket list" birds. I'm very envious. I agree with the comments on the grass detracting from the image but when you're shooting that fast sometimes you have to deal with what you get. The new Ai programs in Topaz and Luminar have some great ways to tackle those issues. |

Hi Todd: You did a wise move to give the bull a wide arc. I'm not sure about RMNP but in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons the elk are still in rut in October and the bulls, especially one of that size can be very cranky. Everyone has commented on the beauty of the beast and I concur wholeheartedly. One of the best I've seen and I have seen many. I agree that you could have preserved more of the surrounding environment to give this big fella room to breathe. Well done! |

Michael - I've not seen a dusky grouse before either. Always happy to discover a new bird. Great job isolating your subjects from the background, especially with their camouflage. |
