26 Feb 21 Reply Thanks Mervyn, this is interesting as well. After all these comments, I see now that the waterfall should be the main POI and the tree just a supporting element to the waterfall. Feb 16th
26 Feb 21 Reply Thanks Tony for your input. Yes maybe I should make the waterfall the POI instead of the tree, just thought because it is rather small it would not be interesting enough. Now I see your point. Feb 16th
26 Feb 21 Reply Hi Jose, thanks for your input. That is actually an interesting idea as well, will definitely try that out. Feb 16th
26 Feb 21 Reply Thanks Bob for your valuable input. I think the tree can be brightened up a bit more maybe to get to my goal. Feb 16th
26 Feb 21 Comment Welcome to the group!
I like the experiment you did, and finding out about color schemes. Well performed "portraits" with interesting color schemes. Well done!

26 Feb 21 Comment This is a very nice abstract image made from an original which was already a very nice image! For me personally, I like the original better with its fine details and soft colours, but I can certainly see the potential for such an abstract image! Very creative! Feb 8th
26 Feb 21 Comment Very nice soft and moody image. I have the same greenish tint on my computer screen (sky to the right), so not sure if that was intended or not. Although you were successful in making the power lines disappear, I think that the area to the left of the church has become a bit too smudgy/soft though in my opinion (not sure what technique you used..) and has lost some detail in compare with the area with trees to the right of the church. I also agree with Belinda to bring back a bit of space to the left and in front of the church (it seems to tight now), no need to get rid of the stripe on the road either I think, it would make for a nice leading line actually (if you moved a bit back or zoomed a bit out). Overall a very nice and moody image! Feb 8th
26 Feb 21 Comment This is a very creative image, and I think the object suits this creative scene very well. I like how somehow the image seems to comply to the rule of thirds/golden ratio too. Well done! Feb 8th
26 Feb 21 Comment This is a very special image. I agree with the others that the expression is priceless and the details are very nice in the fur and face!

If this was my image.. and it would be an image for a open themed contest, I would probably try to do some more burning of the rocks in the background and vignetting, to give more emphasis to the monkey's face and reduce the distraction of the area around the rocks (my eye still wants to go there), or you could even clone the area of water from the right to the left (where the rocks are). If this would be an image for the ND division, then maybe a bit more burning to lessen the impact of the brighter areas would be ok.. but the image in itself is already a great image!

26 Feb 21 Comment A very nice portrait with lots of detail and texture where needed. Also like that the background is soft and not disturbing, which makes the smoke well visible. The light from the left is very nice as well, not frontal, although it seems to almost overexpose the man's hair and beard a bit on the left side. Very well executed portrait! Feb 8th
26 Feb 21 Reply Thanks Belinda for your valuable input. I should have zoomed out a bit maybe to be able to give the tree a little more space on the right. Feb 8th
