I'm so surprised that everyone mentioned the yellow as being distracting. That's the benefit of hearing other people's point of view. Things we either don't notice or don't bother us. The flowers were so pretty in person that I was showing them off, but I understand! |

Or make a framed enlargement and give it to your doctor for his/her office waiting room! |

When I put your image into Photoshop, I did NOT see the blue fringe. I was going to give you a before and after photo using the defringe tools but there was only the white backlit line around the petals. I'm stumped! |

Such a pretty scene! Love the colors, lighting, and slightly dreamy look. I do realize that the assignment was for a close-up, and we expected close-ups. But I do think the petals in this image stand out as the point of the picture. We are allowed to interpret the assignment, especially when we can't make the image for whatever reason. In this case, I suppose you could have cropped way in to just the flower. |

In Photoshop's Camera Raw Filter or just in LR, you can get rid of the blue or purple "fringe" by using the sliders in Optics>Defringe. |

I love the uniqueness of this flower photo. The water drops really stand out nicely. So do the pretty yellow colors. Probably thanks to the use of a flash. I like your experiment. I am accustomed to the look of flowers photographed in sunlight or shade. As I was looking around the flower, I did notice a difference in sharpness that didn't seem to be due to the distance from the camera. I attributed it to something the flash might have done to the f-stop? |

The orange color is what strikes me as especially beautiful. The lighting leads my eye to the petals. I did struggle to find the petal that was in focus. I had assumed that one petal would be sharp. But that's not always the case with "dreamy" flower photography. I do a lot of flower close-ups and struggle with the same problem of deciding what, if anything, to put in focus. I think with this view that I'd prefer more petals to be sharp. I usually take several photos with increasing depth of field and then choose from the results, later. |

A really great waterdrops image! So nice and clear. Although there are lots of drops to look at, that is the beauty of the image to me. I can sit and look at it for a long time. This would be a great large picture to be hanging on the wall of a waiting room where we could gaze at it for a long time without getting bored! Plus, I love the pink color! |
