This scene sure tells the story of a deforested hillside. The negative space adds to the empty, lonely feeling. A big stark scene. Thanks for the explanation about the trees. The new trees sure make an odd but interesting view! I like the uniqueness. Perfect lighting to keep my attention on the lone tree and then the zillions of tree "dots"! |

You chose such a good subject. There's no distracting harsh sunlight. There's just enough of the underbrush to depict the dilapidated environment. I'm having fun looking at all parts of the image. I like the way the headlight area draws my attention by being lighter in tone. Very nice. |

I agree that this car could fill up a memory card really fast! I can also see using a macro lens and a super wide angle lens to really "work the subject"! |

Not only does this have an abandoned look but also the multitudinous stone slabs mimic our theme of "remnants." A nice classic composition, probably taken from the height of the eyes of the human. To make it more interesting, may I suggest stooping down before taking such a static scene. I think the abandoned feeling would still be there. |

I, too, like everything about this photo. The composition and the lighting. This is the kind of photo a person could stare at for a long time while taking in all the details. A good photo decor photo for a waiting room! The pleasant sepia tone coordinates with the "old" broken-down look of the building. You did a great job of taking a potentially busy scene and condensing it down to what is interesting. |

I didn't notice the blue tinge until after posting the image. I have many color problems with my iPhone when photographing close-ups. There's no way I know of to alter the colors when taking pictures when one color dominates the scene and fools the camera. I have a hard time photographing the true colors and tones of the beanies I crochet and sell on Etsy. This photo was taken in natural window light. The bluish areas were farthest from the window. I'm guessing, blue light from being farther away from the sun. Any solutions? |
