I hadn't thought of how dangerous some of these clouds might be to fly through. Now I see them in a different light, a light that has nothing to do with photography!
I like your gray idea. I was feeling that the image was overtaken by the blue of the sky. The blue color distracts me from the plain-Jane gray of the wing, and I wanted the plain wing to be more prominent. I couldn't make the ominous cloud to be the main point of the image, which is what I wanted.
I need to take another plane flight through an upcoming storm??!! and shoot a few more compositions... |

Yes. it is very helpful to click on these edited images in order to see them larger. Bigger is better in photography! |

I've never seen a cloud like that! Very dramatic in both shape and coloring! That makes for a really intriguing scene! And how great was it that your hotel room had this very view, with that building placed so perfectly in the composition! I like the layering effect of the near, middle, and background, too. Thanks to Mother Nature and to YOU for noticing and sharing it! I always find it amazing that the skies look different in different geographical locations. |

Adding the lightning has given this weather image a special look. It looks as if you were sitting in the car and had the lightning appear while you were patiently waiting for the stoplight to turn green. This a situation I can identify with. I often keep waiting for lightning with my camera and then never can capture it! I wonder if Adobe has some lightning images in its sky collection replacement series. I often wonder if using someone else's sky feels right to me. Or not realistic enough. In this case, it looks natural enough for it to have happened in reality. |

You did well to notice an unusual sky and capture it with all its uniqueness. There is a special color and feeling to this sky which is especially noticeable in the original image. Those trees wouldn't look like that in everyday bright, direct sunlight. I, too, was thinking of drastic, wild weather when I saw the assignment. This peaceful image projects a special mood with its even tones and works very well for our assignment. |

I definitely "feel" the weather here. I feel the water as well as the safety of being inside. Your image looks just like it feels when I've been driving in a rain storm. I love the red color being repeated with the red lights and their reflections. That was the perfect compliment to your red car! This image wouldn't have nearly the impact it does if taken in any other color of car. |

I do love your deeper sky, Connie. I knew the overall look was rather muted but didn't know quite what to do. |

Removing a little of the top of the sky seems to help. Thanks for the idea. This is one of those photos where I wish I had taken more than one photo so I'd have more options on the composition. |
