12 Nov 22 Comment Your description makes this image even more adorable. We appreciate such lucky circumstances. It does pay to be ready, doesn't it?! I'm impressed with the results of ISO5000. I like the highlight in the babies' eyes, too! If you hold your hand out and block out the yellow blobs at the top right, the babies pop out even better. But at least the blobs are color-coordinated and not really extraneous subject matter. Nov 12th
12 Nov 22 Comment My eye went straight to the cute face despite those eye-catching flowers. A big dark area like that is distracting as much as a big light area. But the flowers are as much a part of the portrait setting as the house and window. Maybe showing a little more of the house would allow us to concentrate more on the little girl and consider the house as a photo setting. Not sure. The flat lighting is good here, and nothing is distracting due to hot spots. Since the girl is looking off to the side, I think the centered flowers and centered window opening contradict the idea of the portrait not being straight on. Regarding the "customer" (meaning the parents), I think the customer would be happy with the photo because of the good facial expression. Nov 12th
12 Nov 22 Comment Cute baby puppies at a favorite object for them! The fire hydrant has a black blob on it that sort of looks like a black hamster that I thought the puppies might be trying to reach! The image looks static to me partly because of the equal margins on all sides - the distance from the subject to the edge of the picture. Slightly different cropping might improve the image. The top area of the photo (grassy area) is the lightest and draws my eye. I often selectively tone down such areas to keep the eye from wandering from the main subjects. Nov 12th
12 Nov 22 Comment I used the timer on my iPhone for the first time ever. That's how I took the photo of myself. So surprised it was easy and worked so well. I propped my phone against a bowl in my kitchen. Nov 9th
