Changing from color to black and white is surely effective with your image. Your example reminds us to think about it more often for our own images. I remember when I first heard about Silver FX. I bought it and loved it because I no longer had to use colored filters when taking the photo on BW film. Now I use the controls that mimic those colored filters (in Photoshop or Lightroom) to make my changes. I wonder if you stopped your vehicle in the middle of the road to take this photo??? |

Cropping and cloning are such important techniques. Thanks for your example. I think it's very effective. We should all re-consider our cropping for every image! |

You did wonders with polar coordinates! I've never been able to do that! I especially like the fact you added other elements to complete a creation. I think it's great to have such special techniques to make out-of-the-ordinary, not run-of-the-mill images. Your final results sure look worth all the things you compiled. |

I agree with you that the "adjustment brush" is a really effective tool. The plane is still on the darker side but fits with the cloudy sky. I'd prefer to see the plane even brighter. I think you cropped out all the distractions and also positioned the plane comfortably in the space. |

I'm also showing I used a Curves layer to add the darker vignette where I wanted it darker. It's just another method. The top layer shows that the Multiply Blending Mode darkens areas...I slightly darkened that whitish stone area at the very right. |
