Ditto what Barbara said! She took the words right out of my mouth! I haven't had luck with this technique. I think I was using too long of a shutter speed. I see you used 1/60 sec. I will try that and hope to get something as fine as your image. Your choice of subject was crucial to your success. |

It's amazing how 1/60 sec allows for so much motion but keeps the birds clear enough to be easily recognized. The background has blurred itself into a non-distracting, well, background! It sure does look like a painting. I like your white stroked border. The placement of the birds higher up in the composition gives them a look of action. |

You intentionally blurred the foreground just enough to make the background stand out more. It would be interesting to see the opposite, too, where the little rock pile was super sharp but then the background would probably be horribly out of focus. Thanks for letting us see the best of both sections. The blue weather has certainly given this scene an Icelandic mood! |

Tell your husband that we spend good money to get the perfect exposure so that we have an excellent foundation for our creativity with that perfect exposure! You used Topaz to help you. Good choice of windshield wiper for your tree subject's shape. Love the colors. The image might also look good if you left the grass and the base of the tree untreated. |

I think the snow's motion falls in the category of intentional blur. After all, you captured its movement but you could've frozen its action! Accidentally on purpose. Intentionally intentional. The right half of your photo shows the blur. The left half doesn't. |

Good blur with the action! The colors are pleasing. The lightness of the top right corner seems to be pushing the girls downhill and giving them speed! I wish I could see their faces better. If this image is made with 2 layers, one with the original image and the other with your blurred version, you could bring back some of their faces using a mask on the top layer. |
