This is certainly an intriguing image! My imagination can imagine the wall of ice as being several feet wide or only a few inches. I wonder if the ice looked this dark or not. Bright things, especially snow, are underexposed by an auto exposure. I imagine that the snow or ice is so bright that the "eyes" of the camera close up a little and squint, thereby making the view darker. The patterns that you chose to show us are very pleasing. |

The colors pop out well. If I didn't know the flowers were in ice, I would wonder what all the bubbles and specks are. I look forward to trying this technique as soon as I can find some flowers...I had the distilled water! I hadn't thought of the petals moving around and perhaps spoiling my intended composition. I think this technique is much harder than it looks! |

What struck me first was the pretty pink and green color with the contrast of the pure white snow! A very pretty image. Amazed by the uniqueness of snow on a rose seemingly growing outdoors. I can feel the chill! The snow seems natural on the top of the upside-down version. And I like the edited version, too. Whatever the lighting was that day, it was perfect for the petals. Usually, in sunlight, part of a rose's petals gets washed out. |

I get the definite feeling of a "head" in both pictures! I like this idea because I rarely see a shape in the snow (like I do in clouds). In fact, I see all sorts of shapes within that head. Good subject matter! And I think it is especially effective because the camera is at the same level as the head...instead of looking down on the top of a snow pile. |

It works because you made the side of the house dark so that the icicles stand out. I like your version! Since I know the house is light, I didn't think a BW would work! It thought the image would be too busy, but it isn't! |
