How about a composite image with only the sky and water with 2 seagulls? |

I like the way this crop emphasizes the tree shadow on the grass even though "shadows" wasn't the assigned subject. |

I tend to agree. I think the play between the wave and the chair is the fascinating element. |

What you say makes me chuckle! Seriously, I bet that misty fog coming off the water looked especially intriguing in person...not something we get to see every day. |

Yes, I realize it's hard to see the snow that is actually falling. What was disappointing was that, in person, it was snowing like crazy! And I couldn't capture that visual! |

As soon as I see it is a composite image, I always look for the direction of the lighting. The other factor that is often a problem is the color of the light. All 3 of your images have the same color temperature and look natural together. |

I, too, found it most interesting that most of us thought of BAD weather! Maybe that's human nature?! When I first saw this sunny scene, I thought "Where's the weather?" Then I realized that it was GOOD weather! You gave us the needed variety! |

I agree with Walter's mention of the color. All my snow shovels have been silver metal color and therefore would have made an uninteresting image! |

Thanks, Walter! I was aiming for showing the snow texture. Snow is so bright that it is hard to see it even in person, I think. |

When I brightened it too much, it lost the texture. So I settled for a look between too bright and too somber. |

Wow, when I cover the bird with my hand, the dynamic between the chair and that wave become amazing! Good idea, Ally! |

When I backed up in my living room to try to take a wider view, the window panes got in the way, and that's why I didn't capture the chair on the right. |

Your orange snow shovel really makes this picture for me. The big chunks of snow in the foreground are a great base for the composition. And the rest of the snow you included really tells the story. A great memento of your days before a snowblower! |

That pretty blue sky certainly says "Sun" City. It looks like your weather is clear and nice. I'm guessing that your city is known for being this lucky on most days. I like the converging paths that lead to the sky. Also like the tree and its shadow and how they add to the composition. |

I'm enjoying looking at all the details of the storm. There is the island under the dark cloud but with bright areas on either side, and this makes the island look as if the cloud is touching just the island. When I look at just the left third of the picture, I'm reminded of the good weather to come or which has just left. All together, it's a moody souvenir vacation shot to be remembered. |

That is a beautiful body of water. I understand why you would want to create a story for it by adding the chair and perhaps the bird. The composite doesn't look completely realistic to me because the side lighting on the chair is coming from the opposite direction from the side lighting on the bird. The overall scene would make a good book cover for a mystery story! |

I feel and see the stormy weather there. The gloomy lighting adds to the feeling...as I sit here with bright, summer sunshine streaming in my window. Very powerful. My eye goes right to the gushing water. I didn't know you had a waterproof camera, and this day looks like the perfect day to use it! |
