12 Jul 19 Comment Seldom do I see such an interesting set of subject matter! Spontaneous and real life! You grabbed the shot before they saw you! You cropped it tightly and avoided any distractions. This image is almost like an entire novel that someone could write! Hand this image to a novelist and you might get 4-5 novels and 4-5 movies! B&W was the way to go. Jul 15th
12 Jul 19 Comment Was he solid or hollow chocolate? I think your photo is just perfect for this month's assignment. It has the added elements of feeling me good, happy, and smiley! I'm guessing you shot at the 200mm end of your lens because of the nice out-of-focus background. I love the composition, lighting, and camera angle. You got down so low that I know you are much, much younger than I am. If I got down that low, I'd never be able to get back up! Jul 15th
12 Jul 19 Comment What a great idea to use a placemat as the background! I see the shadow of the plate on the left, so it looks like some nice side lighting has defined the plate from the placemat. The highlights on the chocolate are small and just enough to show the roundness of it. I am somewhat distracted by the blown out area of the custard on the right, so I suggest my cropped version as seen below. Jul 15th
12 Jul 19 Comment I think the lighting is what makes both the box and its contents show up so well. No glare. So sharp. You have cropped to an overall symmetrical composition and then added the interesting element of having one "sweet bite" missing! Jul 15th
12 Jul 19 Comment I think the top lighting makes the stickiness stand out. The direction of the lighting in food photography can change the look of the food. Sometimes I hold a sheet of regular white letter paper over the top or off to the side to change the softness/harshness of the lighting. And that can change the look regardless of the type of camera. Thanks for including the "before" photo! Jul 15th
12 Jul 19 Comment I eat, my blood glucose goes up. I take my insulin, my blood glucose goes down. Repeat. See the graph. Jul 13th
12 Jul 19 Comment So if you eat a low carb diet, where do you get your energy? From protein and fat. Because the only sources of energy are carbs, protein, and fat. Jul 10th
