What a good capture! What an unusual scene! I'm really enjoying it. Your location information and the reason the people are there complete the picture. If only we were a video group with the assigned subject of motion...and if only we could see a 10-second clip of this!!! |

I enlarged my crop, and you can see the image so much better if you click on it ONCE and see it appear in a separate window. Remember that you can click once on any of our images to see it appear in another window and at the size the maker made it. |

I feel the power of the horse. I feel the strong effort of the rider to control the horse. Together they look like they are going so fast that they're about to ride out of the image! The placement of the shadows is confusing but also adds to the mysteriousness of the image. As a suggestion for giving the horse some space in front of it to run into, here is a more standard crop. |

Removing the sky was a good idea. The sky didn't add anything to the image other than trying to set the scene that you're on the beach. |

You caught the cyclist in such sharp focus! Well done! Were you using a follow-focus technique? I'm sure my photo would've been out of focus on him. I read what you said about Dehaze, which I try out on many of my photos nowadays, because I saw a tutorial about it a while back. I added some to your image, and here it is. I notice a white halo line above the dirt though. |

And now I notice the other half of the road at the left of the picture! |

While I love the expanse of your entire image, I see the motion as being represented by the road. So I cropped it to emphasize the big lead-in line you captured with the road in front of you. The road looked too black and detail-less, so I changed the image to a black and white and lightened. Just an alternative idea!
And last summer I placed my phone on my steering wheel and captured the road in front of me but included the speedometer, so I understand the "urgent need" to take the photo at that very moment where we wouldn't pull over and stop! Glad you're safe! |

I never heard of fire spinners! What an amazing experience you had! When I first saw your image, it reminded me of a musical instrument such as a trombone or trumpet! Maybe the gold metal color and the roundedness of the designs. I thought you were going to describe photographing a marching band! The touch of blue color adds interest. Your border sets off your image so well. |

Slow shutter speeds do reveal what we can't see "live" and in person! That's why it is fun to experiment! |

The finished composition is almost the same as my original shot, because I needed some of the pipes to act as a base for the squirting fountain parts. That whole fountain view simply shows the entire subject. I took all my photos as close-ups. It was hard to get the camera to focus unless I included a pipe. I couldn't focus manually on just the water, because it was splashing all over the place, and I could barely tell what I was photographing when shooting the close-ups! |

I tend to keep my camera on shutter speed priority because my hands shake a tiny bit. But in the case of moving water like this picture, I usually take shots at high, medium, and low speeds in order to see if I can get an interesting image. We never know what it'll look like until we see the image on a bigger screen (like computer monitor). This image surprised me at that time! |

I can tell you saw what I saw - which was the amazing variety of splips and splats of water! They sure weren't visible like that in real life. High shutter speeds can be fun! |

If you'll click once on the image, you'll see it in a new window with just black as the background. It looks more stunning that way. |

I found the yellow and black striped area to be the unique, striking element of your airplane window shot. So I cropped your image to include it. Then I saw the unusual light-colored and curvy shape appear at both the top and bottom of the picture. Edited the tonal values a little bit. Now I've changed your original "motion in the sky" to a graphic look with shapes and curves, and I hope you don't mind! It's a different version of your original. |

CORRECTION - What I've called the "original" image isn't the original of my close-up image, which I did take close-up, but rather a view of the entire fountain to help you figure out what my close-up is all about! Sorry for the confusion. |
