I just googled the new info you gave us, and I'm so happy to read all about this famous man I never heard of before. One of the websites is https://www.shine.cn/archive/feature/The-man-behind-the-big-magnet-for-the-big-big-building/shdaily.shtml (you'll have to copy and paste the URL). |

Thanks for joining in this month. I, too, now realize I left too much dark water at the bottom of the image. |

Thanks for the improved crop. I hadn't thought of that on my own photo! |

Your photo is both light-giving and giving of light! Very well exposed so that I can see all the details. Great set-up! The coins look exotic to me! I'm so accustomed to our US coins. |

That sculpture looks so interesting. I googled it but can't find any info. It would've been great if it was the light-giving thing. I looked up the building and enjoyed looking at Shanghai. Your photo has interesting diagonal lines that set off both the sculpture and the building. |

Your light-giving lamp is a great choice for this month. Your image tells a story with you sitting there intently. I wouldn't have known you had just raced over there in 5 seconds after pressing the shutter button and got posed so well! I like Gavin's crop although that empty space gave a feeling of loneliness to your photo. |

Sure do like the effects! These architectural details are great subjects for Topaz. Good eye for finding the interesting subject in the first place. I like the way there is a main subject and several other secondary subjects. |

I appreciate how you emphasized the actual light-giving element of the wick by making the wick the only element in sharp focus. The 1.8 focal length of your lens was perfect for that!
I've heard that odd numbers are more dramatic than even numbers. When I cover up your topmost candle with my hand, I think your image has more impact. Try it and see what you think. |
