I have a new grandchild in Sawtelle near Coffs Harbor so I too am looking forward to things opening up. I am in southeast PA near Kennett Square and Longwood Gardens, an excellent place for macro photography and flowers! |

This is a very fun capture. I really love the work you did on the photo. It is well worth all the time you took to sharpen the fence posts and the barbed wire. The cropping is essential to the overall effect of the image. Well done! |

I think Martin's adjustments are really spot on. The entire composition is improved by adding space on the left and giving a vignette to focus in on the moment. I bet the club shoot was a fun one! I have not been on a shoot with others for so long that this looks like a great idea for the future. anyone want to come to PA to have one???? Ha, Ha! |

Fascinating! This image tells a story and is intriguing for the viewer. It made me want to see the production! Nicely done. I agree that the roses on the left where distracting from the composition. Replacing them with a clone from the right is perfect. |

Brilliant idea, Piers. Removing the middle plane makes it a much stronger composition. The change in the sky to add clouds is a very nice addition. I think you have a nice photo here so good luck on the competition! |

I think I like the B&W selection the best too. How about giving a try to select subject on the bridge itself and keep that in color with lightened shadows and make the rest of the photo monochrome? Might be interesting to see how that goes. I do really like the drama of the sky as in the original. The strength of the iron work seems to be enhanced by the more dramatic sky. Nice photo of a really interesting bridge! |

I love Garden gates and this is a beauty. Others have done a great deal in post processing but my thought is that perhaps you are trying too include too much in the photograph. I would suggest go back to the gate and frame the shot differently so that the viewer is forced to join in the imagination and the magic of what lies behind the gate.
On another note, can someone tell me how to open up the image in photoshop so that I could mess around with it? Cannot seem to figure out how to do that. |
