Hi Jeff,
I like this image a lot. One can stare at it for a while and still see something new. I like the lighting, the colors, and your ability to get the jewel to be clear and not blown out. Clearly, I need to look into Mike Moats' workshops! This image and how you describe his workshop are right up my alley. |

I think that the bokah and purple are what make this image so appealing. I love the effect of the LensBaby 56, and you made great use of it here. I agree that the brightness could be toned down a bit on the petals. |

Such a fascinating image...and insect! Thank you for sharing your (very) close-up image of it. You (and others) have taught me that I need to look into the Zerene Stacker app. I look forward to playing with it. One can always have greater DOF, but I like how you rendered your image. My eye goes right to the crisp "face"...and I think the face should be the objective. Well done! |

I agree that flowers can be just as, or even more, interesting the older and more wilted they get (like people...). My first impression was that the image was grainy, but I upon further examination and reading your note, I realize that this is not the case. As with Michael, I wonder what it would look like shot at a lower f stop. The yellow petal makes the image for me. |

This is such a compelling image, Peter. I want to stare at it and take it all in. I love the composition and the colors. I agree with Lynne, that random "hairs" should be photoshopped out. They distracted my eye a bit. Nicely done! |

Hi Lynne,
I like this image a lot, and I am fascinated by how you got it. I have not yet played with stacking and blending, but I'm looking forward to trying it soon. The overall image is soothing to the eye. The colors are great. - Nancy |

Thanks, Michael. I will play will cropping more on the right. The original had even more background there, but it was too much. |

Thanks for your feedback, Lynne. You raise a good point about the switch from in-focus to out-of-focus. |
