Hi Denise, I love what Charlie did with the image, but bravo to you for seeing the potential in the shot. There needs to be a greater emphasis on the twig, more saturation of the colors, and cropping to cut out the less-interesting trunk...all of which appear in Charlie's "redo." I'm intrigued by the lens you use. It's refreshing that you have stuck with something you like so much and have (rightfully), not felt compelled to buy the "latest and greatest"...which are not always "the greatest." |

Michael, Charles raises good points. I agree that the composition is very pleasing to the eye. I would like to see more contrast (particularly a boosting of the orange/red) and greater sharpness. There's potential for a great image here. |

Charlie, I read with great interest how you took this image. I am a new owner of the R6 and am just figuring out how to take advantage of all of the things it can do. I have not yet ventured into the world of stacking. I love the clarity that you got in this image, but do you feel that it is significantly better than what the 100mm lens will do on its own in one shot? That's what I typically use, and I have loved the results. - I agree that shooting a flower on the tail-end of its life cycle can give you a more interesting image than that from a bright, fresh flower. The colors you captured are wonderful. |

Hi Peter, this is a simple, but beautiful image. At a quick glance, one would say that the colors in it are black and pink...but there are so many more. I like the lighting and how you edited the background. The striations in the petals are eye-catching.

Hi Lynne, It's difficult to look at this image and not say "Aw." She does look like a good girl. I like how you cropped this image. Her ears and much of her forehead are not included, but they aren't needed. The eyes say it all. I also like that you posted this in black and white. It lets one focus on the eyes and the story behind the image.
