Hi Michael, Congrats on capturing this image with such good focus in the center The combo of this focus and the blur works very well. I also like how the green-toned background complements the color of the butterfly and, the combo of that green and the violet of the flowers, allows the butterfly to really stand out in the image. Bravo! - Nancy |

Hi Charlie,
Yes, I will agree that you are a glutton for punishment. I have not tried using the stacking feature on my R6, and at some point I will need to get a tutorial on this to try it myself and to best understand most of what you have written about your image. The "crud" issue with macro is definitely a pain! Congrats on all of your work on this image. It is a good one! - Nancy |

I like this image a lot! I am fine with the background, but I was distracted by the thin branch (or ?) that is very faint and coming in from the left 2/3rds the way up the image. |

I agree with Charlie's comment about the fur and eyes, but these create a different (not as realistic) type of image. If that was your goal, I feel that you succeeded. If you were going for realism, I'd re-edit the fur and eyes. It is a very dramatic shot! |

Hi Lynne,
I like your use of natural light. I'm assuming that you needed to use a tripod...yes? I understand what you are saying about the stem, but I would have liked to see more green in the image for contrast. I like the position of the flower buds and the different stages they are in. - Nancy |

Hi Peter, thanks for your thoughts and compliments. I agree that there can be beauty in blurring...but saying that, I appreciate the comments that folks sent my way. Your note about horizontal flipping is interesting. Thanks, again. - Nancy |

Thanks, all, for the suggestions to my image, particularly with regard to the focal point (and the type of flower...not Lilies of the Valley as I thought).
