I love this image. Not only is it bright and cheerful, but the effect of the techniques you used are so interesting. I also like the tones of yellow and green that you went with. They are subdued and not "cartoony." |

This is an image that I could stare at for a long time. The texture, colors, and reflections are eye-catching. The little bit of yellow adds nice contrast. |

This is a fun image to look at. I would prefer that it be in focus all the way through, but that's me. I also would have added a strand of a light yellow, orange, lime, or pink to the cluster of reds in the front. I love the two different blues next to each other. |

Images like this are why are enjoy macro so much (I have a particular affinity for shooting interesting fruits and vegetables.). The tones are great, and I love the angle of the artichoke. I am among those who would like to see the stem be more in focus. My eye went right to it, and it should have gone to the gorgeous, detailed leaves. Overall, I like this image a great deal. |

Hi Lynne,
I like this image a lot. The "bulb" is well placed and the details are both clear and interesting to look at. I don't feel that anything is blown out. The reflection is terrific...just the right level of brightness and clarity. The lime green adds to the interest/attraction factor.

Hi Angela,
Thanks, too, for your welcome and notes. I agree with you about the cut at the top of the image. The cut should be made in a more "bold" way so that it doesn't look like a mistake.

Hi Lynne,
Thanks for your welcome and for your notes. I like the idea, as noted by others, of creating more differentiation between the two pieces of watermelon. If I were to take this photo again, I would block some of the light landing between the two pieces in the center and on the rind.

Hi Peter,
You have done some interesting things with the photo. I am intrigued by the Gigapixel program. I recently purchased it to use, but haven't gotten "into it" yet. I can see where it will be very useful, especially when significantly cropping an image. The "grain" in the watermelon is highlighted in your version, and I like how that looks.

Thank you for your comments, Charlie. I particularly like what you did with the shading. I agree that it helps distinguish between the top and bottom pieces of watermelon. |
