House finches, though common, are such awesome little birds! In all honesty I had never really noticed them until I started shooting birds a couple years ago. This capture is fantastic! Such great detail in the feathers. The bokeh makes it really stand out and take control of the photo. The colors mix quite well together with the opposing green/red. Nice shot! |

Orchids are such unbelievably beautiful flowers, and this one is spectacular! The fade in the background really adds to the structure of the flower itself. The details are crisp. The coloring and slight haze is fantastic. I do agree that it could be a bit wider of a crop, but not too much. I really enjoy that the flower is really big in the frame. |

What a cool still life photo. I really like the dull tones in this image and the shadows that add some fun contrast. It's slightly off centered which gives it great composition. The graininess from the high ISO fits really well based on the textures and the colors. Great shot! |

It's like a fantasy land and it's fantastic! I really love the conversion on the tree, it pops. The leading line takes you right to the main focal point. The contrast is just awesome! Very nice image! |

What a beautiful photo. I love capturing Cranes and Egrets and Herons, they are such incredible animals. This is a fantastic shot, I'm glad you cropped it to just show the one bird. I would maybe tone down the contrast in the leaves to force the focus more on the bird. For me, since the leaves stand out so much, it pulls my eyes over that way first. |

What a fun and cool photo! I really like the brightness around the eye of the grasshopper. The bokeh is great but I think over on the left, the one brighter green leaf is a slight distraction. Maybe crop it in a bit tighter but maintain the composition as it is. |

Thanks Bruce. I did get some much better sunset shots from above the stairway, that somewhat captured the boats more. I was somewhat trying to capture more of the layout of the area while still maintaining a good sunset background. |
