Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
43 Mar 21 Reply Thanks Bruce. They were actually complete strangers quite far away. I did hope they'd turn the other direction so as not to be looking out of frame. I'll have to go through the rest of my shots from that day and see if I have any where they are looking inwards instead. Another one of those composition rules I tend to forget to think about :) Mar 19th
43 Mar 21 Comment I like the reeds being in the image the way they are. It doesn't take away from the main subject, the duck, it just gives it a bit more of a real life feel. I also like that you cropped it almost like a panoramic. I have done that with quite a few photos, especially moving animals. I agree that it shows the movement with the animal. I've read many times that the movement should go left to right (composition rules), as Linda pointed out, and I also tend to forget to do that. I also really like it in black and white, especially with the various reflections going on around the duck, it really makes it stand out nicely. Mar 17th
43 Mar 21 Comment I tend to play with some of my photos in a similar fashion. There is an app called Painnt that I like to use that renders a photo in all sorts of fun ways. I agree that it may not be a "photograph" but it's incredibly interesting, very artistic, and pleasant to look at, so I dig it. Mar 17th
43 Mar 21 Comment I love the colors and texture in this image, though, similar to Linda, I'm not sure what the subject is supposed to be. I'd be curious to see it in landscape with the entire doorway in the frame. It may give it that "golden ratio" composition if the doorway was fully in frame, but I'm not sure. I really like the light coming through the window, but it looks like that would also be shining on the floor of the doorway which would give it a bit more flair. Mar 17th
43 Mar 21 Comment I like the grunge type look of the image itself. Grainy and plague like, just as Bruce mentioned. I like the slight curve of the ground in front of the barn, it brings your eyes right to it while adding a bit more definition to it. I also like the sun coming through slightly to the right of the structure. This is a really cool photo! Mar 17th
43 Mar 21 Comment The composition of this image is fantastic. I love the empty sky space and the fact that it pulls your vision directly towards the barn itself. I think it may be a bit too warm for my liking, but that's more of a preference thing I'd say. But overall, it's a beautiful shot and a touching story to go with it. Mar 17th
