I did a very very quick gradient mask in CaptureOne: if I had more time I'd mess with the sky/background near the subject's fact but this quicky gives a general idea of what bringing down the exposure on the background could do. |

Lovely pic, but think you did it a deservices with your post though: there is quite a bit of artifacting along the stem and right side of the flower which draws attention to your mask work.
Also I think the original image is stronger sans the straightening as it adds to the story . Instead of the straighten consider cropping in quite tight on the flower and frog and lead a bit of negative space to the right and below them: that would really heighten a sense of the frog's precarious perch for the viewer. |

Nice capture: hues/levels look pretty good and the subject is well focussed. To strengthen the image I would crop in tighter and remove as much of the background foilage as possible.

A novel presentation: good story telling. A bit hard to comment on the images themselves at the current resolution. From what I do see on my monitor you might want to bring down the sky and bring up the midtone brightness on the subject. Would be interesting to see the first image at a larger res as focus looks like it's pretty sharp but the saturation looks a bit overdone.

Nice big image for us to review! Yeah!!!
Good levels across the entire image and focus is adequate although the short DoF means the front portion of the subject's beak falls out of focus.
That said, because the full subject is not in frame, I would crop even tighter to highlight the eye especially as the bottom half of the bird (the darker feathers are pretty boring.
