Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
52 May 21 Comment thanks for all the feedback: the funny thing is the Black Phoebe is the bird that was super sharp originally: but the exported version got reduced down by my mail app when I sent it to Sharon.

Here's the intended res.

52 May 21 Comment I really like the image as it tells a fun and strong story. While I'm not fond of square-crops, in this case it's the best option, but you might want to try flipping the image horizontally. Given it's a low-light shot I think the colors/levels for the ibis are spot on. You might want to darken down the bg a bit more to have the subject pop out a bit more.

You might also want to push it through Topaz Sharpen AI if you have it: it's really good with birds and might recover more detail around the beak and eyes.

52 May 21 Comment As an abstract I like the image. As a I do agree with the others that including the stem would put it back in the flower realm.

The colors and details on the petals are very pretty and in its current state it almost looks like an image from a microscope slide.

52 May 21 Comment Nice work on all the post! Detail on the bee is well captured.

I do agree with Judith. Flipping the image might help it read better. In addition to her suggestions you might also want to try opening your composition up to give the bee and my eye a bit of room to move into.

52 May 21 Comment Nice capture of parent/fledgling! The post work to sharpen up the subjects was well done so , but I do agree with Sharon that the blue sky is a bit intense.

My big suggestion is to play with your crop a bit -- you have that lovely vertical branch to aid in the composition.

52 May 21 Comment I like the composition, but not supper keen on the vignetting. (I'm generally not fond of vignetting.) That said, in this case because the sky is so flat, it does add a bit of interest. Good sharpness on the feathers and color on the wings.

The wart is a bit of a distraction, but it also adds a bit of mystery to the bird.
