Lovely image. My only suggestion is to re-crop to have the bird a bit more to the left and maintain the original aspect (although flipped to portrait from the original landscape.) |

I really like the color and composition, but for me the lack of sharpness/focus is an issue. I do think this sort of image might be an ideal candidate to turn into a more abstract image (ie digital painting or other.) |

I like your post work to warm up his fur and the crop works well. I'm on the fence about having more log: mainly because if you include more/open the image up the color of the log is so close to that of the lion it wouldn't add much and right now it helps frame the face.
I kind of like the wonky eye: it gives him more character and sure competition judging might mark you down for it, but it makes for an interesting/intriguing image. |

I think this is a good effort and the post work you did to declutter works well. I agree with Mike that the details, especially for the water are a bit lost due to the darkness. Pushing the brightness and then dropping the contrast down might help this. I do think the composition is fairly bland and either cropping closer or adding back in more negative space might help. On the other hand, even though the hand of man would show, cropping to include the second bird and using the mirroring of their legs to set the composition might be fun to play with. |

I like the composition of this image and the color work you did in post works well to create more drama. I feel that the sharpness/point of clear focus is a problem though. The lone tree loses quite a bit of shadow detail and from the original image I see that the focus point is much further forward. |

Nice capture of the elk. I think the crop works well to get rid of the other butt. I think the color correction works well to warm up the image. |
