I like the composition and the strong diagonal and also the fact that there is an odd number of flowers (when I say that I have to reprimand myself for being beaten into submission by judges who seem to mark down even numbers of a subject - rules are made to be broken !!) I wonder if it was possible to squeeze out a little more detail in the petals. Maybe take a few shots by adjusting exposure compensation just to see if there is more detail to be had without dulling the intensity of the white. |

Thanks Paul. I think your version works well by cropping out some of the bottom. I would probably remove the foliage in the bottom left of your version as well. As to your comment about leading the eye through the image, I think that the river is doing that and since our eye is normally drawn to the brighter parts of an image I wouldn't lighten any of the background as per your later suggestion because I don't want to detract from the bridge. But thanks for your input, that is what Digital Dialog is all about. |

Thanks David. I like your B&W version which makes the bridge stand out even more but I am not so sure about the vignette. Maybe a less strong vignette would be better. It is fascinating to see members' interpretations of what was basically a snap from a moving coach and it shows how differently we see images. |

My vote goes for the black background because I love the gold and black combination. I am attracted to that in most situations. An observation is that to take a stack of 48 images on a leaf is quite an achievement even if you used only 25 in Helicon and I wonder if a smaller stack would have made any difference with a flat subject. However you have presented us with two very competent images and I enjoy them both. |

I have mentioned before about taking and making pictures and this is a classic example. You have taken a picture and made something special out of it. Artists put their own interpretations on a scene and now we photographers have any number of tools to do the same with our photographs. So I like your interpretation and the reason that you did it and I am sure it will hang proudly on your wall. |
