The crop is good to eliminate the window and to remove the red sign and you have a very striking picture. When taking an image like this I always try to remove barriers and invite the viewer into the picture so I would have opened the gate a little if that had been possible. |

The bird is sharp and well positioned in the frame. I agree with David about the background. You have very good camera equipment so one solution when the subject is close to the background would be to set the aperture to its widest setting to try to blur the background a little in camera. You have achieved some blur on the right of the background so a wider aperture would do the trick. |

Yes, I can see the roadrunner and I wish you success in the competition. We have a club member who does this sort of photography and gets some very good images. Your enhancements to the original have made the roadrunner stand out (and run horizontally !!) so I like your imagination. |

Thanks David. It was a 25 second exposure taken at about 9.00 in the evening in August which is blue hour at that time of year. I attach another photo taken at roughly the same time further up the street which shows blue hour and a street light. It would have been wonderful if someone in period costume had been there and I'm sure that that happens at certain times of the year. |
