The composition is spot on and the reflections give extra interest as well as the obliging fly of course. The image will illustrate your essay perfectly. The lilly is so sharp I wonder what camera and lens you use. |

This type of image is always better in overcast conditions and it has worked well here. I like Cindy's interpretation because it has darkened the branch behind the fern to make the fern stand out better. |

A pleasant scene and I agree with Cindy's and David's comments about that. You have cropped out the lamppost casting the light to the bottom left of the picture but some light has bled into the buildings giving a brown cast. I think removing that would improve the image. |

Strange that you thought that the reflection had more appeal than the building because I thought that myself. I think that that is because the reflection is in the shadows and has given it a richer colour. Maybe a further reduction in the highlights is the remedy. |
