Thanks David. I considered removing the bright white light but its reflection is in the water so I decided to leave it. I was in two minds about cropping the top of the image and I think I agree with you that it would be better without the crop. |

I like this image for several reasons. Firstly it has simple historical significance and the main subject, the shape of the tiles is beautifully photographed and set off against the diffused background. I also like the balance between the yellow strip on the left of the tiles and the yellow of the small grass on the right. It has also set my imagination racing because I see the small grass appearing to recoil from the threat of the curvature at the top of the tiles. A very enjoyable image. |

A pleasant and tranquil scene with interest in the various ripples in the water and the wispy clouds in the sky. The water leads the eye through the picture to the rocks in the near background and the hills in the distance. Is that really an amphibian in the water or is it a rock in the foreground? Whatever it is it adds interest and a bit of mystery. |

The two orchids in the foreground are beautifully sharp and have a bit of space to "look into". I like the diffused background and the inclusion of a couple of flowers in the background. I think the image would be improved if you removed the dark stems at the top of the picture. |

You have created a great image when you compare what you started with and your end product. I believe that a Canon R5 is a full frame camera and various recommendations that I have seen suggest shooting between f11 and f15 with most full frame cameras with a macro lens (although I think Canons behave differently) so to get such sharp focus on the spider's eyes is remarkable at f5.6. Personally I would like more of the spider to be in focus and I like the mottled background which has variety but does not detract from the spider. |
