45 Apr 24 Comment I think you have created a very atmospheric image with the conversion to black and white. I particularly like the way the angle of the cross compliments the angle of the tree trunk. I think David's crop is an improvement because, in the original, the tree is leaning out of the picture and maybe a little more of the right hand side would be better if that was possible. There is interest in the wall too which makes this a very enjoyable image. Apr 29th

45 Apr 24 Comment I like your revised image. Green can be an overwhelming colour and I am constantly desaturating it in my images. This looks like a good filter which has both desaturated and softened the greens. A very enjoyable image. Apr 8th

45 Apr 24 Comment I agree with David about much of what he says. The yellow cast is a problem and I think David's interpretation is better but probably has made the image a little too cold. The temptation here would be to get lower down and try to include some more of the building that is shown on the artist's painting but I think you have got it right by using that to give us an idea of the building itself and keeping the image simple. 45 Apr 24 Comment I really like this picture of Stumpy and it is a great pity that it will be cut down. The colours in the image are very attractive and I like the reflections. I wondered about removing the structure on the horizon but then decided that it provided a good contrast between the irregular shape of the tree and the regular profile of the monument. RIP Stumpy !!
