It was good to combine two images taken at roughly the same time because you have had no problem with the light direction and that works well. You did not tell us your camera settings. You clearly used a fast shutter speed but did you use a high ISO too and that is what created the noise in the sky? |

Whether you call it "Dusk" or "Solitude" it is a very calm and peaceful image. Would a small boat in the distant water help to draw the eye through the image? I like the various reflections in the still and rippled water. |

This is a much stronger image and all the best bits are still there. |

The contrasting greens are very attractive in this image and then we have the bonus of the reds, yellows and whites as well as greens in the flowers. The flowers are beautifully set against the cream of the blinds and the whole image is symmetrical, well almost, which gives it some extra charm. A very gentle and attractive image. |

You've done a really good job of isolating the locomotive and I like the effect that you have achieved with the wide angled tilt shift lens. You have captured its size and it really imposes itself in the image. My only comment would be to remove the lights on top of the locomotive because it appears to me that they are roof lights and not part of the locomotive itself. |

There is much to like in this image. I like the atmosphere, the fact that the saw blade is actually cutting the wood, the tools strewn on the top of the timber and the carpenter himself is quite a character. The bit that spoils it in my view is the tarpaulin and the red handle of the garden fork but it would be difficult to eliminate those unless you took the picture from further to the right. I like to see direct eye contact in portraits and the carpenter appears to be looking to your left. |
