45 Dec 22 Reply Hi Ray, is this what you had in mind? I had to increase the exposure on the dock wall to bring out a bit more detail in the bit that is left. My original idea was to create a story. This interpretation is more of a portrait which seems to work quite well. Dec 19th
45 Dec 22 Comment That is some cat!! You were wise to use a 200mm lens from a personal safety point of view if nothing else!! As in previous submissions you have brought out the colours in post production and together with the slightly diffused and neutral background you have produced a very attractive image. The eye contact with the cat is very strong. Dec 8th
45 Dec 22 Reply Thanks David. The fishing line emerged when I was playing with demist in the raw convertor. The original looked rather over exposed on the right hand side and I was pleasantly surprised when I reduced the highlights and added some demist. The sun emerged briefly on the horizon to the right which also helped to highlight the figures and the fishing line. Dec 8th
45 Dec 22 Comment There are very strong shapes together with the strong colour in the statue and the image is well balanced by the building and the statue. The sky is interesting but subtle enough not to compete with the main subjects. A very good shot. Dec 8th
45 Dec 22 Comment A moment in time well captured. There is plenty of interest in the shapes and colours in the image. Personally I would try to straighten up the verticals just a little which would probably remove the small print on the left. Alternatively, I might repeat one of the other images to make three complete images at the bottom. Dec 8th
45 Dec 22 Comment You don't mention your camera settings but it was obviously a fast shutter speed. The osprey stands out well against the water and the lack of any other distractions takes the eye straight to the bird. You have captured the catch well too so it is a very good nature shot. Dec 8th
