Thanks Charlie. Yours is an interesting interpretation but I wanted to include the barge in the image, or as much of it that added to the scene and provided some balance with the bridge. You have illustrated a very useful technique in Photoshop which I have used in other images but in my view the barge is an integral part of the picture. |

I have reduced the blue in the sky and distant land. What do you think? |

I like your revised version which has a more muted foreground but enough detail to provide the interest. The shutter speed was just right to show some motion in the water. I think I would have toned down the light on the branch (that looks rather like a bird's head) to concentrate more on the waterfall and foliage behind it. |

This is a good macro image and the most striking thing is the frog's eyes. They are really sharp along with its front legs and my eyes went straight to them. It is a good exercise in portrait photography where the important things have a strong emphasis. |

Thanks David. I had several attempts to remove the pipe but now notice that I didn't succeed in removing the shadow of the piece that I cropped out. I think I got away with it by removing whatever it is so the shadow could be viewed as just the decolourization of the stones. As an aside, the interesting thing about the nearby steam railway is that its three steam engines all came from USA. |

Thanks Cindy. I would have liked more of the barge too, but most of it was covered with a rather ugly tarpaulin (you can see the rope holding it in place) so I composed the shot to eliminate it. I like your version which has added a bit of sparkle to the image. |

I think you have created a very enjoyable image from an uninspiring original. You have brought out good detail in the trees and foreground. I think I would have reduced the blue a little in the sky. I have rarely used Lightroom, although I have it in my Adobe pack, so I will try it because when I adjust the highlights and shadows in Photoshop, it seems to produce a slightly unnatural haze effect. The Raw convertor never seems to have enough slider to complete the effects that I look for. There is none of that in your image and adjustments to the highlights and shadows have worked very well. |

This image is very small on my monitor and when I took it into Photoshop to enlarge it, it was very pixelated. However, I like the sweep of the lights on the river bank, the colours in the distance and the reflections in the water. It would be good if there was more light and reflections in the far distance to complete the sweep of the river bank. |
