I think your various processes in Photoshop have made the image pop out and I really enjoy the colours in the sky. I agree with other contributors that it would be better to take out the converging verticals completely and I would also remove the leaves at the top. Very enjoyable image. |

The crop tool in Photoshop is such a powerful tool as illustrated here. It has transformed the image into a much more powerful picture with plenty of action and concentration on to the two main figures. I am not familiar with baseball having only been to one game on a visit to USA many years ago. I enjoyed the occasion but did not understand the game. My lack of understanding explains why I cannot see a ball. In sports photography, I was always told to include a ball if it is part of the game. I think the colours enhance the picture and the small technical problems in the background do not detract from a very good image. |

Beverly, thanks for your comments. The purist might wonder where the lighting on the esplanade comes from but your modification certainly takes away the distraction of the lights. Good to hear from a member of another group (or groups in your case). |

It would be good to see the original image to give us an idea of what it is. I like the abstract nature of the image and the way you have presented it with the dark and light of the vertical pieces contrasting with the dark and light of the background. I also like the way the top half is broken up by the bright sections of the vertical pieces and the reflections at the top. The water droplets are good and sharp. A fascinating image. |

You got a good depth of field with your macro lens for the original. Your manipulation has transformed it into a completely different image. I like the way you have brought out the separation of the petals with the darkening of the edges and also the extra detail in the petals themselves by darkening them. The narrative about your manipulation is very useful. I have dahlias in my garden and the challenge now is to grow one like your final image !! |

I think you have captured this very well. The symmetry is such that you could not have done better if you had been able to set it up. I agree with Zina's modifications largely because some of the rubbish in the foreground has been removed but I probably would have removed it all. |

I think you have captured the scene well and have successfully brought out more detail in the rain. I am not familiar with Lightroom at present, I am learning how to use it but if you took the image in RAW, you would probably have been able to add more texture to the rain in Photoshop using the texture slider in the RAW converter. I think an improvement to the image as a whole would be to reduce the highlights in the rocks bottom left because the eye is rather drawn to them. |
