Undoubtedly barnacles.
I had doubts about my ability to get the shot since he was so close, but it pays to keep shooting. As I said, I got only one shot in the series in which it was completely in frame |

I have thought of how to boost the contrast better but I'm still thinking about the whole picture. |

I echo the comments on the depth of field. Any chance of getting another try at this, It's a really good idea
1. I think the aim is for symmetry but it's not quite there and my eyes keep trying to make it symmetrical . I think playing with aspect in photoshop or lightroom could help.
2. The color in the background is not as strong as the nearly black and white in the foreground. Try it in black and white
3. The plant tops further from the viewer on either side of the bridge are confusing, I. initially saw them as swirling water
4. The tree on the right doesn't help
I made a stab at this in black and white. It's not ideal but I hope it provides some ideas.I also did a rough swipe of the sharpen tool on the slats in the bridge in front of the walker. It's too much but the idea is more contrast on them would help, I beleive. |

Really nice. Interesting good detail and sharp And fun.
The two things I would considering--making the pole perpendicular to the bottom of the photo and removing the wire beneath the performers and the one in the upper left.--Adobe's remove tool is really good these days. People don't need to know there's wires there. |

Great colors and mood and the people add the real touch
Initially i viewed this without scrolling enough so I didn't see the big rock in the foreground. I don't think it adds anything. I would crop in a couple of inches to dramatically reduce the amount of gravel we see. That's how I initially saw the photo before scrolling and it was absolutely great without the bottom two inches
That kind of cropping would give a better balance of background, middle of photo and sky. I'd clone out that smaller rock in the lower right foreground
I uploaded my crop. I also used the burn tool to darken the remaining gravel in the foreground. Otherwise, I find myself wondering "Is that gravel" |
