Thanks all. It is funny that when I was shooting the fireworks finale, I was upset the people were blocking my view. But they make the shot. I did not expect this to work as well as it did but I did have the suspicion it could be interesting, just not the shot at an air show that would be my best. |

Fun photo. I like the overall lighting. I have shot fire breathers and it's a great subject to work with. The guy with the mist coming out of his mouth make this photo. I would crop from the left which also could get rid of that group of people in the middle left. Otherwise, the audience helps tell the story successfully. Our club always recommends this with photos with lots of dark edges to help the eye see the edges. (generally a three pixel line)
I am somewhat confused and distracted by having the performer right covered up by the fire. I keep coming back to that instead of looking at the rest of the photo
If this were submitted in a contest, the judge would note the blown out parts of the fire.

Beautify color and very sharp and the green does need to be tone down. I wish the flower tips had not been cut off but since nobody else cited that, it must be a personal preference. You could use a hue/saturation layer in PhotoShop to both reduce saturation of the green and its brightness. A brightness/contrast layer can also be used to turn down the background. Or a combination. I'd see which works best.
I think slight sharpening on the lower right flower might be in order

Color is nice. I would go for having the stamens focused as they are in the center and the lines on the petals lead to them
My mentor told me that on outside flowers to shoot at 1/1000th because of the chance of motion from wind. His comment was people think flowers are easy but they are one of the toughest things because of that combination of possible motion and the fact parts are often not on one plane.. You could have probably gone with a slightly wider open aperture and gotten the depth of field needed f
I am wondering if you were just too close for thelens. |

It's very interesting, but if you had not told me this is a rose, I would have said this was some kind of plastic. I see the rose as having been reduced to an abstract--which is perfectly fine (and fun). I think the "what is this?" feeling I get is what holds my interest. |

I like this a lot--very much like a painting. I would crop in on both sides to eliminate having a border through flowers in the foreground. I like the effect of having a modern city in the background. It. makes the city remote emphasizes the dreaminess. The flowers set up a line from the lower left diagonally toward the upper right You might play with darkening the white areas in the sky a bit. |
