The lights were set for everybody and shifting too much to right or left ends up with no drop in back of the model. |

Good subject with nice detail and some good lines--I think the lines of the whart of the buildings and the boat really make th is.. Besides editing out that post you could crop it out. Definitely get rid of whatever that is to the right of the post sticking out into the water. I would also crop out the first two buildings on the left so that the first building on the left is that two-tone one with the light top floor and the lower floors somewhat orangish.
The bigger problem is the brightness of the building directly behind the boat. I'd darken the building and lighten the gondola and passeger so that the eye goes there, not to the building. There's that fairly bright white in front of that building--just to the left of the boat's bow. I'd definitely deal with that. |

The center of attention are those great eyes. I concur with Meredith's comments. Focus the eyes and the purple fethers. Your experiment with shutter speeds to see what with blur the wings. (If Home is cooperative) I'd also go for filling in a light blue background--fill layer in photoshop would work |

Thanks
It's what I got with the set up at the camera show. It's. pro set up and we didn't have a choice other than number of shots and framing them. |
