I like your monochrome rendition of this image. It sort of highlighted the texture of the brick floors thus creating a more powerful image. |

Thanks Lance for the comments. With regards to my choice using ISO 400 vs. ISO 100, I remember that it was gloomy and windy with lots of cloud cover except for this shot where the sun briefly came out from the clouds . I took this photo while perched near the edge of a rocky ledge. The wind was blowing so hard that I had trouble stabilizing my tripod (it was a small Manfrotto travel tripod). I was using a Canon 5DS-R with a 50 megapixle sensor and from my experience, it is very sensitive to camera shake. I wanted to shoot at f/11 so I sort of overcompensated on my shutter speed just to make sure I have no blurred shots thus the ISO400.I was also constantly checking my histogram to make sure that these was no underexposure. I guess it was a moment's decision. |
