This is such an exciting image! The macro lens makes all the difference. The color palette is sumptuous. I think the image is even stronger with the sharpening that Peter introduced. |

I must confess to not really understanding the editing tweeks!
This is a masterpiece. I particularly like the energy and sense of motion created by the curves. By introducing the water, I have the feeling that we are looking at some kind of exotic, far eastern boat. This image takes me into a truly magical world!! |

You captured such a great moment, Judith. The feel of the image is so soft and enticing. I also like the cropping you've done to emphasize the deer. I would concur, though, that the brush strokes may be overdone while realizing this may well be very much a matter of personal preference i.e. to what degree do you want to create a painterly feeling? |

Love this image...water shots always hold my attention, and this one far more than usual. There is something magical and unique about the angle of the sails and the adjacent sun star. I can't think of anything you could have done to make a more compelling image. |

Thank you all so much for your helpful comments, which give much food (and maybe some drink) for thought.
Judith, I only used Lightroom for editing (Photoshop and other software is quite "beyond my ken"). |
