Parades usually yield some good images, though the backgrounds are often too busy. The three horns and their players dominate the scene, but as. we read left to right I was immediately drawn to the half face with eye on the far right. I would suggest cropping it back to just behind his ear. |

It took me a few minutes to see your lady -this will well confuse most judges. I feel that the strengthening if the lady's colour and the inclusion of the sprays has made it much stronger and more easily appreciated. |

An interesting set of brick textures in this image, the strong side lighting adds to the textures without creating dark shadows hiding the detail. I feel that it needs some cropping at the top and would probably go a little lower than Becca. |

Squirrels nearly always make good subjects and can be quite difficult to get images of as they move about so quickly. There is always a decision to be made about whether to go for a very fast shutter speed on to use a smaller aperture to keep everything in sharp focus, here you have its tail just going out of focus and it does not quite Gell with the sharpness of the rest of the squirrel. As this not in a specialist natural history circle, agree with Becca about cloning out the pine cones. |

The cropping to an almost square format was necessary as the 'overhang' on the building in the background could be a very great distraction. The conversion to mono has worked well as it has removed the attraction of the coloured steel work. I wonder whether just leaving the two people in colour would have created a stronger image. |
