A very simple image well executed. The ice or water droplets on the seed head add a sparkle to the image. Well done. |

The image has a definite wintry feel about it, with its bare trees. To me there is too much sky, I particularly like the upper blue part- I would take a slice out removing the. light blue band just above the trees and blend in the keep the colour gradient. |

The use of natural light creates a very effective image, with enough light illuminating the lady's face. Your cleaning up of a couple of light distractions in the dark areas, has improved the image. |

Birds in flight are not easy to photograph, particularly if they are to be large in the frame. The inclusion of animal/bird eye tracking in the latest cameras can be a great help to photographers, but I wonder whether in this shot the eye is large enough to make the tracking accurate as the bird appears slightly soft to me. I would consider that your shutter speed at that distance would have frozen the feather detail. |

You have captured the bird very well, with good feather detail. I like your perch of the frozen bird bath. I would crop off the supports of the bird bath at the base of the image, as the view through them is the lightest psrt of the image and therefor creates a distraction. |

Back in film days I was a great user of an orange filter as added contrast to blue skies. In this image it has worked very effectively in two ways - it has darkened the reflection of the sky in the water and it has lightened up the autumn coloured leaves on the tree and the litter on the ground. I would agree with you that the exposure was too long which resulted in blurring out any detail in the water |
