27 Jul 22 Comment Here in the UK we heard about your floods, they have been a major problem.
Your image gives good record of the damage local to where you livened gives a good impression of the strength of the water.

27 Jul 22 Comment Applying modern approaches to an old image can produce very good results.

I agree with Lauren that the background needs blurring, and with you that the pile of tyres is an important part of the image.

I have selectively applied the High Pass filter withe grey layer inverted to the background and tyres, then on the original layer used the dodge toll to bring up the flying gravel.

27 Jul 22 Comment To me you have included far too much in this image, above the fallen tree is adding nothing to the story. As often happens when photographing egrets or other white birds all the feather detail etc has burnt out. Jul 11th
27 Jul 22 Comment I like your combination of images, in the original girl image the background was far too busy and drew too much attention away from the girl. The rubble pile image would not stand up on its own, as there were too many features in it fighting for attention. It does make a very suitable background for the girl, and creates a strong story, even if the poster slogan is not in connection with the background.

27 Jul 22 Comment Photographing in a butterfly house is always difficult as they keep the temperature quite high which means the butterflies rarely settle anywhere for any length of time to give you a chance to get a good shot, also they usually have its of attractive colourful flowers about which can draw attention away from the butterflies. I now tend to use short telephoto or longer focal length macro, so that getting in closer is not required as it often makes the creature take to flight, this can also increase the depth of field available. It also helps if you can get the wings either own or closed parallel the sensor plane.
You have kept all the wings in focus, though it is hard to see all the scale detail because of the dark wings. I find that the large yellow flower being so bright is a major distraction from the butterfly.
