I agree with Laura your version is far too contrasty . I have tried reprocessing in Photoshop, on original layer - cloned out hot spots in hair and on forehead, added a curves adjust layer to overall darken image, then a B&W adjust layer with green -200, red -4, yellow -90 then added a final levels adj layer adjusting the bringing in the black and white triangles and small adjustment to the midpoint. |

You have captured the flooding very well, I like the silhouettes of the trees coming up from the water and the layer of heat rain clouds in the sky. To me the best bit is the sun, not having any burn out or flare partially coming out just behind the cloud bank. |

I always prefer to see the big cats in their natural environment rather than captivity. This was taken under fairly strong sunlight with has created a small amount of burn out to his mane. I feel that some careful work in Lightroom adjusting the white balance and the tonal balance would make a stronger picture. |

I like the way that the river makes a good leaden to the image. I can appreciate that there was very strong lighting from the right, which would have made the trees on the right much darker. As presented I feel that the trees on the right are appropriately lit, but the ones and rocks on the left are over bright.
My approach to this type of lighting situation would be either taking 2 original images a different exposures and stacking and masking to get the end result.
Or having a single RAW exposure making 2 different 'exposure' exports from Lightroom and then stacking and masking as required.

Though the butterfly is the main subject of the image, I feel that it is having to compete against the large orange flowers, and the smaller yellow flower to the left. To me , we need to make the butterfly stand out more, I would suggest by increasing its sharpness relative to the rest of the image. You could also reduce the saturation of the flowers, cropping as has been suggested could also help. |

I like your monochrome conversion of the image and the way that you have enhanced the ripples and reflections in the water. Though I usually quite like to see the softening of sky clouds due to use of a long exposure, I feel that you have over- blurred the ones in this image, as in the original image the already created a gentle lead in to the driftwood. |
