Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
27 Sep 21 Comment It was fairly simple to do - a colour was selected and set at a fairly low opacity and the selection of stripes painted with it in darken mode (this avoided having to make a selection of the stripe, if the opacity was too high it would try to put colour on the black stripes) Sep 30th
27 Sep 21 Comment My early comments were about Lauren's saloon image.

Though the cyclist occupies only a small part of the frame the large area of foliage is an important part of the story as it sets the scene very well. I would suggest straightening up the picnic table and adding a little more contrast to the cyclist.

27 Sep 21 Comment Immediately I saw this I said Amsterdam, the style of architecture and the bicycles on the bridge are do distinctive. My first reaction was we do not need the boat in the foreground, it stands out from the water and the blur of its movement immediately attracts attention. Without the boat I feel it would work equally well as a colour image as there is such a very restricted range of tones with the yellow of the street lighting. I agree with Lauren that the strong white line created by a passing boat would be better removed. Sep 13th
27 Sep 21 Comment Shooting creatures in an aquarium can be quite difficult to light and to remove unwanted reflections. I like the diagonal composition of this image, and is helped by the arrangement of the tentacles, the centre of the anemone makes a strong centre of interest. I would be inclined to tone down the purple area on the top left as it draws these from the anemone. Sep 13th
27 Sep 21 Comment You are fortunate in America to have a number of states with may abandoned townships and homesteads in which make excellent photo subjects. This old saloon has made an excellent subject, with the textures of the wood and decaying paintwork. I like the inclusion of the skulls hanging above the building, and the sign on the right taking us back to the horse and cart era. The signage also says much about the era in which the business was active. To me the only jarring item is the sheet of chipboard blockading the doorway it is so out of period. Sep 2nd
27 Sep 21 Comment To me this is a simple but very effective image. I like the gentle green and brown tones of the landscape, and the colour of the barn goes well with them. The flag hanging down makes a very strong centre of attention, which says USA quite clearly. I would be inclined to se if cloning out the coloured objects in the barn opening improves the image, as I feel that the white of the shelf is potential distraction. Sep 2nd
27 Sep 21 Comment This is a good result of combining 2 exposures to get a good image. I really like your foreground with the tori gate, it makes an impression that the shot was taken in Japan. The addition of the firework wheels creates a strong centre of attention in the sky which is helped by the 2 lasers pointing up towards them. Your cropping on the right removed a very bright item which would have been a major distraction. Sep 2nd
