This is aged shot of the two baby birds, obviously waiting to be fed. There is excellent texture and detail in the nest. The thin branch going left to right is not adding to the image and is a distraction which would be better cloned out. |

Avery simple image and a good response to your competition challenge. By only showing the man's legs you have made the shadow the main feature of the image. Placing the shadow on the diagonal has strengthened it. |

I agree with you that often shots of an orchid group do not always convey their beauty. I really like your close up as it shows good detail in the centre of the bloom, and the rear petals then create an good background. I am not sure whether the inclusion of the tops of the petals at the top of the frame would be better cropped off. |

You have got great new toy in this globe, and it is well worth continue to play (experiment) with. I see your greatest problem will be in getting a suitable and easily transported and set up rigid support for the ball. I like the way that the ball produces images in two ways either the ball working as a lens or by reflections off the ball.
I like the image that you have created on this occasion, in particular the way that the inverted image through the ball makes a base for the reflection of toehold house.
I feel that you have cropped the image too much, I would keep all of the ball and if necessary clone out the light area at the bottom right. |

To me this is a well caught image of the insect, which because of its size did not require any macro techniques. It stands out very well against the light plain background. Not using flash has had the advantage of not possibly creating a shadow on the background, but more importantly it has avoided any bright reflections off the insect. I wonder if you would have created a stronger image if you had rotated it to bring the base of the stalk into a corner. |

There was clearly a problem with the mixture of light sources when you took the image, and I feel that the overall reddish cast that you have created is very acceptable. I like the way that you have enhanced the detail of the brickwork in the darker areas, and the inclusion of some of some tone in the almost burnt out areas of some of the lights. Aurora is not a program that I know but it has done a competent job one this occasion. |
