This is a very strong image created by the strong contrast of the red balloons against the blue sky. I particularly like the positioning of the balloons one in front of the other as they ascend, and it being taken from up in the air so that the horizon looks to be lower down.
To me the white line round the balloons is an artefact created in camera, when you have a contrast between two tones next to each other usually light and dark, but also contrasting colours. Unfortunately any sharpening done in post processing will enhance the effect. One of the reasons I use High Pass sharpening is that in that situation I can apply a mask layer to the sharpening and using a small brush I can then reduce the visibility of the line without affecting the sharpening over the rest of the image. |

To me this is a pleasing piece of photographic art that has lot of impact because of its strong colours. I quite like the fact that the flower is not in focus and we rely on the colour and shape to know what it is. To me it is let down by the hard edge to petal top centre as this stands out compared with the soft edges elsewhere |

I like this image with its strong diagonal composition and strong colours. The hardish edges to the petals and leaves make it look a somewhat cartoonish as Renee says, but it definitely has impact. |

Your cropping has concentrated attention on the 4 main riders by removing the white poster on the extreme right which would draw the eye. As the riders are coming towards you, freezing the action is appropriate as you do not need to keep a semblance of movement in the wheels so that they do not look static.
As so often happens at this type of event the background is relatively busy, though it is out of focus. I find the marshal on the left in his yellow and white quite distracting, and he would benefit from toning down or better still cloning out both marshals. |

A well seen image, framed or cropped to concentrate attention on the hose. Looking carefully at it, it looks as if you have used gaussian blur on the background, as I can see what looks like a spot of bad masking and some bleeding on edges. Ideally this needed be taken with large aperture lens fully open so as to throw the background out of focus.
I feel that this would be a much stronger image as a monochrome, as it would reduce colour distraction from the background, just desaturate and then increase the contrast a little. |
