I was thinking more like this. |

It definitely is better, but I fell you have cropped it far to much, at the top as the steps now lead to nowhere. |

Mono is definitely the best treatment for this image. To me it does not really work as the steps lead you out of the image, flipping it would make the steps lead you up and through the image. |

Welcome to the circle Denny.
Like the diagonal compassion created by the paraglider and its pilot, the strong colours really help. To me the main problem is that the pilot is obscured by the other person, they need to be clearly separated to show the story of the image. This to me is one of the situations where a whole series of images need to be taken in very quick succession so that situations like this can be avoided on at least one of the frames.

To me your tonal adjustments have greatly improved the original image. I feel that overall there is no real centre of attention, it should be the daffodils but, they are too spread out across the image to stop the eye wandering back and forth across them.
I did consider whether flipping the image would use the daffodils as a lead in across to the big tree, but feel that the downward sloping branch destroys the effect. |

You have really caught the action of the occasion and the image has a good evening feel to it. Your choice of shutter speed for the panning has rendered the car sharp whilst creating the right amount of blur to the back ground. Like Renee I find the small red light above the car to be a distraction. I however like the effect of the car's lights on it and the ground around it. |

To me your treatment of the image has been very appropriate and successful, in really concentrating attention on the lady blowing the bubble. I am great advocate of the use of selective sharpening and also slightly darkening and softening the backgrounds. Looking at the background I can see that you have used gaussian blurred had cut the figure out to prevent the blur bleeding in to her. If you use the High Pass filter and then invert the grey layer it will give similar softening effect without there being any bleeding. Which ever technique you use whites and other highlights will still be very obvious and need to be darkened down to some degree. |

The steeple has quite a severe lean on it, probably due to poor foundations as all of the Venician islands are built on salt marsh and structures are constructed on wooden plies driven into the marsh. |

Brad did not include my original file which shows how much tonal separation was required to get the final image. |
