This is an interesting exercise in manipulation and the introduction the shaft of light. I prefer the original 2, but feel that the chair needs lightening slightly. |

As I was working at about 30 feet at f8 there was only a depth of field of about 6 inches which has kept the bird, chick and nest sharp and the foreground and background dropping off.
Resizing times down to that used in folios like this can reduce the quality of the image depending on he software employed - it is usually better to resize yourself down to the 'display size'. The use of JPEG also reduces the quality of the image especially of fine detail, if the quality is dropped to reduce the file size rather than the resolution of the image and can even result in banding in some colours particularly skies. |

To me this is a good demonstration of the kind of effect that can be achieved using a Lensbaby. I quite like the softening of the edges of the petals but am not sure that the darkening was required. |

To me this is a very straight on shot of the bird taken from too low a position out from too close. Cloning out a lot of the distracting branches has improved it, though eliminating from any natural history competition as does the changing of the sky colour. I feel that you could have brought out more feather detail in the breast off the bird. |

A great image. I really like the way the Milky way runs diagonally across the frame. The inclusion of the ground is essential, though I feel that the centre rock need toning down slightly. |
