Bev, I really like the blurred background that focuses attention on the rider. This is a great shot! The only thing I would change is the edge of the flag. It's missing a part that was ed in the original. The black and white causes the flag to stand out more, so my eye is drawn to it. |

Don, I agree with Tom and Lloyd's comments. Really beautiful and interesting shot. I love the vibrant colors. It does look a little like a composite. I'm wondering if the high pass filter over sharpened the flower a bit at the edges. Very creative and clever shot! |

Tom, you captured an amazing expression on the reenactor's face. I really like the way his look, the cigar and the smoke all draw you into the shot. Putting him on a black background heightened the attention on him. If you put this in a competition, look into adjusting the left ear and the edge of the hat above it. Great shot! |

This is a beautiful shot of the cat. I think he's hoping someone will come by to play with him. I agree with comments from others. I can see that the left ear is in shadow in the original. I'm wondering if it got darkened a bit when you were toning down the hot spots or by the vignette. I think it might match the rest of the vibrance you created if it were a little lighter. I love the shot! |
