Tom, you're right that I could have chosen a slower speed. I was shooting handheld at 180mm, which is why I ended up with that shutter speed. The plant was in a shady area. I should have used a tripod so that I could slow the shutter down and use a lower ISO. The lens I was using is a zoom that isn't the best choice for close ups of flowers and plants because of the minimum focusing distance. I just bought a better lens and will be experimenting with it. Thanks for your input. Sometimes when I'm walking around shooting, I forget to think about slowing the shutter and using a tripod. |

Bev, that tones it down so that it doesn't distract from the tiger's face. |

Lloyd, your shot is beautiful. I love the colors and that you captured some of them reflected in the water! I've never tried pano, but now I'm thinking I will. Can't believe you could pull it off handheld. The whole image is clear and sharp. |

Tom, great shot! Despite not having a really long lens, you managed to snag a nice sharp image of the brown boobie. I didn't realize that birds would be that far away from land. Thanks for sharing the second shot. I've never seen birds chasing flying fish. |

Jamie, you made the shot really beautiful with your edits. I like the sleek look of the car against the dark background and that you removed all the distractions. Nice job! |

Margaret, I really like this shot. The lighting is great and the elk stands out nicely against the background. It does look better with the other animal removed and the face of the elk lightened slightly. |

Paul, I agree with Tom that this is an amazing shot. Despite shooting through a window at that distance, you managed to capture all the detail in the bird. A tough shot to get against such a bright background. Nicely done. |

Bev, I love this shot! It really grabs your interest. Makes me wonder what the tiger sees. As for the hot spot, Tom is right that it needs to be toned down a bit, but I'm sorry to say I don't like his fix because the tiger's paw is gone. I think if you can mask the paw and pull the whites down in just that area it will help. |
