48 Feb 22 Reply Paul, I looked at your photo on Instagram. It's great! It's sharp and the colors are much more vibrant. I did notice that it's a slightly different shot than the one posted here, but I don't think the problem is the choice of photo. When I click on your thumbnail and open it, your photo is less than 1/6 the size of everyone else's. I think the 1024 limitation means no larger than one MB. In Lightroom, I usually restrict my export to a max of 1,000K. Feb 17th
48 Feb 22 Comment Hi Paul,
Welcome to the group. Your bio is amazing. I can't image the courage it took to fly into so many dangerous situations. I have only seen a small part of your state while on my way to Glacier National Park. It is a beautiful area of the county, but really cold in the winter. Your image is nice. I like Bev's crop, and as Tom mentioned, I also like the reflection of the pilings in the foreground. I wish the image were a little larger to allow us to see more of the detail. I'm not sure what happened, but I think you may have cut it down more than necessary to submit it. Bev is the expert on that and may be able to help.

48 Feb 22 Reply Thanks Bev, I like the way you toned down the hot spots in the garden. Feb 16th
48 Feb 22 Reply Thanks Jamie, I didn't actually crop the shot. The "original" is actually a shot from the other end of the bridge. I do like the end that shows the "pulled out roots". Feb 15th

48 Feb 22 Reply Thanks Margaret. Chanticleer is really pretty in the Spring. I'm sure you'd love it. Feb 9th
48 Feb 22 Comment Lloyd, I love this shot. I think it would do very well in an abstract competition. I really like all the detail right down to the tiny imperfections on the edges of the metal. I'm curious what focal length you used. I'm guessing 150mm. How close were you able to get with that lens? Feb 9th
48 Feb 22 Comment I like the original because I like the contrast of the deep blue sky against the green tree. I also like all the texture in the rocks. The higher ISO may have contributed to the softness. I have made that mistake too many times to count. Feb 9th
48 Feb 22 Comment Bev, like others have said, he's so fun and cheery I can see why you liked him. I think it's a really fun image that draws me in. I like things about both images. To me, the first one shows a handmade quality to the clown, while the second one smooths him out. I like the second one because to me it's clearer that he's sitting on the cabinet. I also noticed that the strings look different in the two images and I was wondering if there are more balloons that are cropped out. Feb 9th
48 Feb 22 Comment Wow! This is an awesome shot! It looks like you must have been fairly close on the opposite bank to get such a tack sharp image of the guy in the canoe. It must have been tough to get with the fast motion and a somewhat shallow depth of field. I love the effect you created. I know from attempting to get shots of birds in flight that it's really easy to take over 1,000 photos. I've been trying to clean up my library as well. Feb 9th
48 Feb 22 Reply Thanks Tom. I think the fact that I was closer into the bridge when I took the shot toward the gardens helped to make the wood (I think it was wood) that lines the inside show up better. It is a fun bridge to walk through. The problem I had was that I wanted to use the bridge as a frame for the shot and that prevented me from showing the "fallen tree" aspect of it. Feb 9th
