Margaret, I think it's an interesting shot with a lot of different textures. I like the blue green color of the telescope and the patterns created by the lines of bolts. You indicated that your attempts to enhance the sky didn't work. I wish they had because I think a more dramatic sky would add a lot to the photo. I can't figure out what the horizontal and vertical lines in the sky to the left of the telescope are. I have always wanted to see New Zealand and am still hoping to go there in the future. |

Jamie, I'm just learning Photoshop, but I think you might be able to select that triangle using either the lasso tool or the marquee tool. Then you can make adjustments to just that portion of the photo. |

Wow! This is a beautiful photo. I am also torn between the monochrome and the color version. To me the monochrome is an amazing mix of textures, but I also love the delicate shading of the colors in that version. The background you selected is perfect in both versions. |

Bev, I admire your skill. I have tried grab shots at family gatherings and it's hard to get anything that looks good. This is a great shot and you did have a beautiful subject. It's unfortunate that some of the makeup being used now tends to reflect light so much. I was wondering if spot healing in Photoshop could help. |

Jamie, I love this shot and the way your editing plays up all the textures and colors. To me, the deepest orange colors seem just a little over saturated. I agree with Tom that you might be able to darken the triangle on the lower right. |
